Site access and enabling works

We pride ourselves on providing sustainable and efficient forestry services. One of the essential aspects of our work is having the right machinery and operators who can work together productively to complete challenging sites.

Our team of experts has the knowledge and experience to carry out enabling works such as turning areas for lorries, forestry tracks, access ramps, and to work alongside harvesting machinery. We also specialise in designing and installing effective drainage systems to ensure your forest is healthy and productive from the day it is planted.

We understand that every forest has unique challenges, and we work closely with our clients to develop plans that meet their specific needs. This includes applying for permission from local authorities (if required) and drawing up the relevant plans prior to any work starting.

Agriforest have three modern excavators, two of which are specifically designed for forestry work and include additional hydraulic pipework to run different attachments. They are all guarded and have higher ground clearance and a reinforced undercarriage amongst other benefits. The machines being owned and operated by Agriforest have made a huge difference to the programme of work carried out so far which has included various ground preparation sites to enable effective planting of trees, drainage, track reinstatement and ponds. We are also asked on a regular basis to undertake reinstatement work following the harvesting and haulage of timber.

The main benefit of the in house team has been reliability-turning up when required and leaving the site when the job is done. It has also enabled a high degree of flexibility as quite often clients ask for additional work to be done, or changes made to the existing plan and we are able to respond without delay.

This part of our service ensures reliability, quality of work, and continuity of the work programme from start to finish.
